About Me:

I am a work at home mom to two beautiful little boys. I have my degree in interior design and have worked in the field for seven years. Although my interior design business has taken a back seat to motherhood, I still work part-time for clients. Sharing my passion for all things house and home on my blog MyBlessedLife.net keeps me going!

Favorite area of home improvement:

Definitely the prettying-up aspect...I love to style and accessorize!

#BeforeandAfter

#Recycle ...»

Took a circa 1970's china hutch and transformed it completely with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It is an amazing before and after. Be sure to visit my post to see all the details (and be entertained by my hubby as he shares the process!) Lovin' our first project with chalk paint!

A Handmade, Gender Neutral Nursery Room Reveal

This room was just a boring pass-through office when we moved into our fixer-upper one and a half years ago. When my husband and I found out we were expecting our second child, we knew ...»
this small room would become the nursery. We did our best to keep the remodeling cost of the room down by using what we had and doing all the work ourselves. We installed a white wood plank wall to give the room some character and more light, painted an old dresser that was given to us to act as a changing table, sewed a custom crib skirt for an inexpensive, but high end look, and used a bed rail off an antique bed as inexpensive shelving for the room. Now the room has much more character and is already filled with all the love we poured into putting it together. #BeforeandAfter

Skittles Bench

This was given to us by the neighbors as they were putting it out for trash, so we sanded it and repainted it and set it by the pond.

  • After all the new flowers were potted we have a pretty spot to rest. A friend pointed out I spelled Le fleurs incorrectly so I repainted the lettering on the bucket but didn't take more pictures. I love spring time!
  • It's a great, sturdy bench. It was so pretty when we first saw it. Funny thing, I still see it that way. That's what my husband says about me! :) I don't let him go to the eye doctor.
  • This is a close up of the floral design on the back. Lots of wonderful details!
  • Clean, smooth and painted. Feels even better to sit on than before! Let me know what you think! 4

Iron and Wood Bench Make Over. Who knew it looked so bad before!!!!

mowed. One day while in a what can I paint now binge, I looked at, I mean REALLY LOOKED AT, that bench. Wow, it was rough looking. I took it apart, scrubbed, sanded, painted and put it back together. That sounds so easy, doesn't it? Well, it really was very simple. The bench is heavy and the process a little time consuming, but it is something most anyone can do! Check it out and see what you think!
