  • Borax is a natural laundry booster because of it's unique ability to clean, by converting some water molecules to hydrogen peroxide.
  • The high alkalinity of washing soda helps it act as a solvent to remove a range of stains. Also adding Fels-Naphta helps eliminate residual stains. It works as a stain remover, for tough stains

Homemade laundry detergent and why it works so well

Homemade laundry detergent is all the rage these days but do you ever wonder if it really works? I love the idea of homemade laundry detergent, that costs a fraction of the price but I ...»
want to know that my clothes are actually getting clean, before I jump on the bandwagon!

The 4 basic ingredients of homemade laundry detergent are Borax, Arm & Hammer Washing Soda, Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and Fels-Naptha bar soap. I also added Oxi Clean and doTERRA Wild Orange essential oil, to give it a little extra cleaning power, and a delicious citrus scent. Check out my full post to see how/why each of the ingredients work to create the best, most effective laundry detergent. Click here: http://askannamoseley.com/2013/05/the-best-h...

Edit: This detergent can be used in a front loading washing machine, there are instructions if you click on the link above. It is also safe to use if you have a septic system, I researched all of the individual ingredients and they are all safe to use. My sister has been using this for years on her septic system and she has never had any problems.

  • Decorating for fall. <3
  • I like to add glittery pumpkins and plain pumpkins! I also like adding Christmas lights to my garland.
  • I chose some red sunflowers to give my garland a pop of color.
  • Wrap your ribbon around the end of the garland and then trim at an angle.

Our Home, Before, During & After

Our home was a labor of love! We tore down an older house and used the materials to build it. We did everything ourselves except for the sheetrock finishing. I even drew up the plans ...»
that we needed for the bank loan! We used a lot of salvage materials not only from the house we tore down but also purchased vintage french doors, etc. To see more of the story, go to my blog at http://awalkinthecountryside.blogspot.com/20...

My Sunroom..."My Favorite Room" that inspires me....and makes me happy!

Although I have submitted photos previously, I am submitting this room as "My Favorite Room" today a part of the Hometalk feature of "My Favorite Room"... ...»

This room was originally designated as the Breakfast Room; however, it best fit our needs as a Sunroom/Keeping Room...the use of the room for this purpose far outweighed our needs for a breakfast room...as we have many places to dine within close proximity. I first posted this room a while back and so very pleased that many have viewed this room and enjoyed it as much as we have.

The furniture is from Lane Venture, the drapes are Enchanted Garden from Calico Corners...I love adding pops of red to this room of green. It is a wonderful room to relax and enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee and my favorite magazine...
