Design & Décor: What can I do with this ceiling?

The old, quality paneling came from my husband's great aunt's house, which is slated to be destroyed. What can I do with the plain, boring sheetrock ceiling to complement the walls, yet not darken the room any more? Oh, and the door needs something, too. It's the same white as the ceiling.

One of my favorite kitchen layouts.

The size of the island, the additional seating for entertaining, the dark beams add gorgeous contrast and the stone brings in the natural element.

WOW!

change up the accessories with the seasons-pastels in Spring, deeper jewel tones in Fall, etc. Just a few-I'm a firm believer in "less is more" when it comes to accessoriess!

Does anyone know how to clean a crystal chandelier?

I have an electrician coming to hang it & I want to clean it while it is eye level. It has been in storage for 4 years.
