  • In the beginning there was a old rusty umbrella table . . and a whole lot of dishes . . . broken mirror pieces, stones, glass drops etc . . . . and a idea just starting to form . . lol
  • the center was a bit tricky . . I cut small tea cup plates that had a curve to them and formed "petals" I used sculpy clay to keep them in place . . lol
  • I started forming the outer star pattern with a mix of stones and mirror
  • I used black plates I bought at wal-mart (a buck a piece) my slurge on expenses . . so that this would all come together color wise. grouting it was a lot of work! but this is now a great addition to my yard!

Mosaic Table

I used a old rusted umbrella table, black rose china from a yard sale, black button glass drops, stones, junk jewelry, broken mirror, grout and a glue gun!

Thank you steve . . this was pretty fun to do. AND was very reasonable to make, the smaller ...»
rose plates on the outside part of the star work very nicely as "coasters". This past summer the table has weathered fairly well - with the exception of a few small cracks in the grout - since the metal table flexed when it was moved around the yard. Oh well . . it is a liveable issue - lol . . .Now if only I could find the perfect chairs for it!

Mystery plant growing in my yard

I would really like to know what this is . . .it is not your typical flower - these are teardrop shaped and the petals do not open ( very smooth and compacted )- except at the very top you see a little bit of yellow. This is just one branch of a large plant. The leaves are pointy and kind of weedy looking . . does someone know what this is??

Sounds like the plant made the right choice when it decided to check out your garden!
