  • My pallet garden privacy screen 6

From Pallet to Privacy Screen Planter!

I wanted a little privacy screen on my deck and decided a pallet would be the perfect (and free!) solution! To freshen it up, I painted the pallet a cheery yellow and filled it with summer flowers and vines! Now it doubles as a garden and provides just the privacy I needed! It was an easy DIY project, you can find the how to details at The Inspired Room http://theinspiredroom.net/2012/05/28/the-pa...

DIY Pallet Wine Rack

A pallet destined for the landfill is repurposed to make a wine rack. This was my first pallet project and I'm thrilled with the result. #BeforeandAfter

  • Ikea Billy bookcases turned into built in unit.
  • We slid the four bookcases into place and surrounded it with trim to build it in.
  • A thick crown molding added the final touch.

Built in bookcases

I used four Billy bookcases (with extenders) from Ikea to install a wall of built in bookcases for my craft room. For a few hundred dollars, we have a custom look!

Tulip Festival in Skagit Valley, WA

Last Saturday, we went up to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. It's been a few years since we've been up there and since it was the last weekend of the festival, we wanted to take ...»
advantage of it before another year passed. The tulips were just gorgeous! There are so many varieties and colors and I love all of them, but I think my favorites are still the classic red tulips and yellow tulips. They're just so happy. It inspires me to plant tulip bulbs this fall.

It was hard for me to narrow down which pictures to post - I must have taken 100 photos! These are just a few of my favorites. You can see more beautiful tulips pics (and 1 corny one) on the blog at http://www.lilikoijoy.com/2013/05/photo-frid.... Warning: Flowers in the images are as riotous as they appear. Enjoy the tulips!
