  • The pony wall between the family room and kitchen gets a lot of wear and was in desperate need of an update. 3
  • So we added beadboard to it and the entire surrounding area.
  • We continued it and replaced the old dated wooden paneling that originally surrounded the kitchen peninsula. 1
  • We painted the remaining cabinets the same white and added new fabric to the cornices above the windows. 3
  • We also took down the lonely cabinet to the left of the sink and replaced it with three floating shelves.
  • The newly white cabinets look so much brighter. They also make me want new appliances, counter and backsplash--One day! :) 3
  • Here is a view of the pony wall and eat in area with crisp white beadboard as well as my new table my dad built. Love how the white really opens up the space! 10

Painted Kitchen Cabinets and Beadboard

Our kitchen was way too dark with red walls, wood cabinets, and wood flooring. So we decided to break it up and update the look by painting the cabinets white and adding white beadboard ...»
to the eat in part of the kitchen. Take a look at what a transformation some paint and a few other inexpensive additions can make.

Very pretty! Question: What colors would you go with for appliances and counter tops?

Penny floors

Saw this kitchen floor made by mosaic artist Amanda Edwards using pennies. Seems like a great idea. I was actually thinking of using this idea for a backsplash, but still a lot to consider.

Beadboard Wallpaper

For those of you who haven't discovered beadboard wallpaper, let me introduce you! I discovered it 3 years ago (Graham Brown UK version) and haven't stopped using it yet. From bathroom ...»
renos, to ends of kitchen cabinets, to inset door panels in furniture, there are tons of use for beadboard wallpaper. I loved it so much I started selling it in my online shop, off my blog, Southern Hospitality. Here's a link to a bathroom project using it: http://southernhospitalityblog.com/beadboar...
