Small mostly freebie backyard deck

This is a small deck I made a few years ago at another trailer we lived in, made from pallets, oversea shipping crates, yard sale stain and polyurethane, junked decorations and tree and ...»
railing and garden ties. In the center of the deck I painted a Koi fish pond. I was asked on HomeTalk facebook to post this awhile ago...

  • A close up of the finished floor, it almost looks like old leather. 15
  • I did the whole 10 X 12 room for about $80, but any future room will cost about $30. That's cheap flooring! 11
  • Gluing the paper down using a 50% Elmers glue %50 water mixture. This part took forever. 10
  • Here is the paper going on, this is about 10 hours in (spread over multiple days). 6

Paper Bag Floors

If you are in need of new flooring but don't have much money to spend (or even if you do) then this fits the bill! I created this floor out of brown paper, Elmers glue, stain and ...»
polyurethane. It was easy to do (albeit time consuming) and is very durable. This room is 10 X 12 and cost about $80, but future rooms will cost about $30 since I have plenty of leftover supplies. Gardening

A Rake is not just for raking...I found this idea in the Flea Market Style magazine, love this magazine (I wasn't paid in anyway to say this, soley my own opinion) , they have so many great inspiring ideas! I thought it was such a cute and cleaver idea! We don't have a lot of places available for hanging baskets, so I thought this idea would be a perfect solution for hanging baskets.

A rake isn't just for racking leaves, It also can ...»

New Use for an Old Door

We were in need of something to add character to an empty wall in our kitchen. So my husband and I removed the glass insert in an old door, stapled a burlap sack to the back of the ...»
opening, and added shelves made from pallet boards. So simple!! I love the way the door fills the space and it has provided me with great storage to display my vintage finds!

Wonderful idea! I have a window to nowhere in my kitchen. I can use this idea to cover it up ...»
without having to tear out a part of my wall. It could make a desk/TV area that I want except I think I'll try to get a mirror fitted to the spot. Thnx!!!
