Coat Rack from an Old Door and Yard Sale Shelves

I bought this antique door at a salvage yard. Turned it on its side, routed out the panels, added mirrors, then hung it over two yard sale shelves and added some decorative molding and ...»
hooks. I love this coat rack! It has enough hooks for each of us to have two! #ProudestDIY

DIY: scented room spray

Just 3 ingredients and a couple of minutes of your time is all it takes to make this refreshing room spray. I use it to freshen the house, mask pet smells... and a quick squirt in the linen cupboard gives all my linen a delightful scent.

Ohh those versatile wine corks . . .

Kitchen Island

This kitchen island started out as an old hutch that had been scorched in a fire. We took a saw-all and cut the top part off that had burnt shelves. Then added legs, painted it, then my husband took some scrap mahogany left over from my bathroom sink project and made a top for it. Coated it with mineral oil and voila!

I like it, too! I have half as many cabinets and counter space as you, and I, too, am planning ...»
on tiling my backsplash with white subway tile! I'm even thinking of going dark with my white vintage 1920s cabinets - thanks for the inspiration, Beckie!
