Company Overview

I started this company in 1999 with a focus on the smaller, handyman-type jobs. We are now a 15 employee company doing major kitchen & bathroom remodels. We still handle the smaller jobs, too! We have won many awards for our work which is a straight-forward, no non-sense approach; we say what we do and we do what we say...period. Our post-job service is high on the priority list. We buy all cabinetry direct, many products on display in our showroom.

bathroom mosaic

HI, I have never posted anything on the internet before but am in the middle of a renovating a house and have done so many fun things and wanted to share. I couldn't decide on one type of ...»
tile to surround our claw foot tub so I collected various colors of tile that I liked made a mosaic. I didn't draw it out, just wanted it to look free and flowing. Please excuse the mess in the rest of the picture, had a failed attempt at hanging a chandelier, need to find a smaller one. Oh, we have a farmhouse sink with a sideboard to be used in there also. The whole bathroom will be finished with all re-purposed materials, sink and tub found at junk sales, refinished, mirror found in garbage and repainted, windows off of Craig's List, floors taken out of a foreclosed house and put in by my husband, over the sink light from garage sale. OH and the 2 doors, not shown, are also Craig's List items.

  • Any ideas how to make the ceramic tile here non-skid?

What would you recommend to make ceramic patio tiles skid resistant?

Our outdoor patio area has ceramic tiles that are as slick as glass whenever someone steps on them with wet feet from the pool. It's also very bad news when I walk around in my Croc flip flops while watering the plants! :) Seriously, though, these tiles are a very real hazard at my house that concerns me anytime we have a pool party. We bought a product and applied it last year that was supposed to make it non-skid. It didn't work for the long-term. For now we have 4 rugs out ...»
there, but they are a big pain when it comes to sweeping leaves and dog hair. :(

I am now considering Shark Grip in a clear sealant and rolled on with a paint roller, but I before we go to all the effort of cleaning off the patio and doing it I wanted to ask what your suggestions would be. I want it done right when we do it again, so I need a solution that will last for years and not have to be re-applied annually.

I do like the color and look and feel of the tile, it's just WAY too dangerous for use around a pool area with wet feet and fast moving children.

    I agree with those that suggested a special sealer to add slip-resistance.

Hi Hometalkers,

Time for the Great Flooring Debate! When it comes to kitchen floors, there is usually no middle ground: You either love your floor or you hate it! Where do you "stand" on these five types ...»
of flooring? What do you have and more importantly, do you like it?

* Cork

* Bamboo

* Hardwood

* Tile

* Vinyl

    a five year guarantee??? Against what?? What's the fine print?? I guess a five-year is better ...»
    than a Lifetime guarantee....or is it?? A guarantee is good ONLY if the company standing behind it will service the guarantee.

Remodeling: I had everything set up for a contractor to upgrade my bathroom but my disabled husband's health got worse,,not sure if,

I can do it on my own. I aquired tiles and a toilet, but need a pedestal sink yet. I really want my whirl pool bathtub for my husbands health reasons I need to knock out a wall. ,, I fear this might get costly..

    Hi Tonya. DO yourself a favor and don't try to tackle the bathroom remodel on your own. Many ...»
    mistakes can, and will, be made including the probability of a water leak.

    Consider this about the whirlpool tub. If your husband's health is failing, will he be able to get in the tub? It has been my experience, personally with my father and professionally with clients, that getting into and out of a whirlpool can be difficult for someone with any physical ailments. I have a feeling that you won't use the tub as much as you may want to.

    If you intend on having some type of lift system to assist your hubby in and out of the tub then maybe he will be able to utilize the tub. Otherwise, you may be spending money on something that will not offer an reward.

    I'm sorry your husband is not feeling well, here's hoping that he rreturns to health.
