Concrete Garden Path
We made this garden walkway with a mold that we purchased at Lowe's. We mixed the Quickcrete up and then poured it into the mold a section at a time. It was almost like making mud pies. It was a bit time consuming but we were very happy with the end result. It has held up very well as it has been down now for about 3 years.

Building a potting bench out of pallets.
For a weekend project my husband and I built this potting bench out of pallets. Such a great way to recycle pallets and also so useful.

Here is the link for building the chair. http://ana-white.com/2010/05/plans/simple-ou...
I found this to be an easy way to dress up the deck.
I used these plantings as I found they are drought tolerant and other plants that I previously used needed frequent watering.

Another great way to recycle pallets by turning them into a planter.
I have two of these on my deck that help to splash the area with color for the season. Remember to drill holes into the planter boxes for drainage.

I secured these Bromeliads to this tree by wrapping the root base in sphagnum moss and then covering that with a piece
of nylon stocking. It looks as though one is very happy and rewarded me with a beautiful bloom.
This was made by attaching two hanging baskets together.
Before attaching fill each half with potting soil. I attached the succulents with florists pins.

I planted these Poinsettias a couple of years ago after using the small plants for decoration in the house.

Fire Pit Deck
We are putting the finishing touches on this paver deck. We made the chairs out of pallets. The fire pit table top was also made from pallets. We love the idea of being able to convert the fire pit into a table when it is not in use. The bench seating was made from left over materials that we used to make a retaining wall in the front of our house. I am looking forward to adding the finishing touches and being able to enjoy conversation around a cozy fire during cooler weather.
