I found this to be an easy way to dress up the deck.

I used these plantings as I found they are drought tolerant and other plants that I previously used needed frequent watering.

Cool, already thinking of other plants that would work like this.

I planted these Poinsettias a couple of years ago after using the small plants for decoration in the house.

Does anyone know if I need to cut them back after they have bloomed?

I secured these Bromeliads to this tree by wrapping the root base in sphagnum moss and then covering that with a piece

of nylon stocking. It looks as though one is very happy and rewarded me with a beautiful bloom.

Thank you so much Yair for the quick reply. I am aware of how to fix the problem on the pc but ...»
I rarely even open it up as I find myself using my IPad for most things. I take most of my pictures with my iPad and then post. I do hope that you will give it great consideration as I feel that it be most useful. Thank you so much for correcting the one pic. The other one I quickly deleted when I saw that it was once again upside down.

This was made by attaching two hanging baskets together.

Before attaching fill each half with potting soil. I attached the succulents with florists pins.

Sherrie ..yes they have flowered and have been so fortunate that they have survived through last winter and so far this one. If we can just make it through February we should be on easy street with the freezes.

Fire Pit Deck

We are putting the finishing touches on this paver deck. We made the chairs out of pallets. The fire pit table top was also made from pallets. We love the idea of being able to convert the fire pit into a table when it is not in use. The bench seating was made from left over materials that we used to make a retaining wall in the front of our house. I am looking forward to adding the finishing touches and being able to enjoy conversation around a cozy fire during cooler weather.

Another great way to recycle pallets by turning them into a planter.

I have two of these on my deck that help to splash the area with color for the season. Remember to drill holes into the planter boxes for drainage.

Concrete Garden Path

We made this garden walkway with a mold that we purchased at Lowe's. We mixed the Quickcrete up and then poured it into the mold a section at a time. It was almost like making mud pies. It was a bit time consuming but we were very happy with the end result. It has held up very well as it has been down now for about 3 years.
