I can tell what's on your mind. You wrote "tile" instead of "time". Yes I can tell what's been ...»
on your mind. I should get off this computer more often and get busy creating things myself.

The children are fine. Thank you for asking.

The Metcalf Stone Patio

I give credit where credit is due. My old buddy from high school (Tony Hegewood) who is a brickmason and I layed this patio in some chilly weather! He had never layed stone until I got ...»
him to help me with a few jobs. This one was Tony's and we did it together. It Is a Good Thing When Two Mason's Can Match On Anothers Stone Work :)

Mosaic Quetzal ~ National Bird of Guatamala

I Remodeled a Customers Kitchen ...tore out the old backsplash, the laminate counter-top and the old vinyl floor. I installed 12"x12" granite on counter-top, white subway tiles on splash ...»
and then installed a 13"x13" ceramic on the floor, then she Commissioned me to Create this Bird since her two handsome Sons were adopted from Guatamala.

Oh Becky I about fell off the back of my chair when I read that. You are too funny. I can't ...»
stop laughing. Yes we certainly have been up the creek, but thankfully we did have a paddle!

Our ten year old grandson by love said it was the best wedding he'd ever been to.

Sand-Cast Garden Stones with your Children's and Pets hand and foot prints! SImple and Cheap to Create!

I usually take and make a pile of sand larger than the stone I am wanting to make. I wet it down and get it about the consistancy of wet beach sand where it gets firm, then I carve out a ...»
basic shape to accomodate the concrete mix. After that I lightly sprinkle in some more damp sand and leave it lofty for an impression. I will set my hand in and press down evenly, even using my other hand to push my fingers in deeper. If it is not a good enough impression then sprinkle more sand in voids and impress again.

After this you can make a mix of Portland Cement and Sand 3-1 Mix and add water to the point it will be a thick pour ...about like waffle batter :) and carefully pour it in starting from center, but GET IT IN THERE! The sand mold will immediately draw the moisture out of the concrete mix and it will leave gaps in the face of stone so keep it moving.

Don't get too frustrated because it can take practice. Once you try this you will understand my challenges in pouring my large Sand-Cast Fireplace Mantel!

Whimsical Sand-Cast KOKOPELLI

Once again as in my Cattail Fireplace Mantel, you are creating in sand :) I created this piece to set into a garden wall. This guy is approx. 3ft tall with a red glass eye to represent mischief! ;)
