i want to "update" my 1960's pink bathroom. At this point I am not sure what colors to use to redo. The pink tile still is nice, the floor needs replacing and maybe a few other things. What colors??? Since it us a small anthropomorphic.

If you do gut your bathroom, try to get all your "pink" stuff out as damage free as you can... ...»
people will pay a nice $$$ for vintage pink. Post it on craigslist or ebay and recoup some of your rehab money.

Man Cave Makeover

We recently made some changes to our family room, better known as my husband's "man cave". The room went from orange to neutral shade that complimented our dark furniture better. The ...»
movie posters stayed as they're our favorite part of the room. I am pleased that we have a room that we both can enjoy. I tried to create room that would be comfortable to us both; a masculine room with a feminine touch.

Outdoor Living: KOI ~~ SNATCHED BY BIRDS or STOLEN ????

Does anyone know if it is at all possible that a Blue Heron or an Egret would be able to take "5" Koi at one time? Then come back the next day and take 4 more; the next day he/she/they ...»
took the remaining "3". Yes, after the first hit we tried to protect the pond even more than it already is. The pond is relatively well-covered with tree branches. I'm thinkin' the one of the roofers next door came and helped himself to our fish thinking that they were worth $$$. Any thoughts out there? They were so precious to us ~~ some being over 20-years old.

Finishing What I Started... Painting my Entry Doors

I have a bad, bad habit. I love coming up with home improvement and DIY projects around the house. I love started those projects and jump in head first, gung-ho. And then... I get ...»
frustrated. I run into problems. I run out of time. Such is the case with my front doors. A year and a half ago, I made the decision to paint them and started working on them, but never finished. Thanks to 'encouragement' from my husband and some gorgeous spring weather, I finally buckled down and finished what I started last week. I finally painted the doors in Benjamin Moore's Wythe Blue and got the front of the house finished and ready for spring! #MayProjects #DIY

Duck tape legs

The legs on my old desk were so brittle they were splintering. I could not get materials to fix them correctly, wood putty just didn't work, so I finally came up with duck(duct) tape! Complete with paint splatters! Cute or Cheesy?

Carol, you did not cause a problem. You asked a very valid question and what happened was just ...»
ugly and unnecessary, I think all of us can agree on that. I am very happy that Hometalk Support came in fixed the "problem".

On a lighter note, I do understand your issue... I have 4 cats, all are fixed and some are inside/outside cats. We have a "cat door" and a neighborhood Tom cat has actually came into our house looking for our fixed male to fight with him... !! in our own house !! LOL So imagine your problem on your patio now moved into your living room LOL I have woke up quite a few times at 3am to them fighting in the hallway outside our bedroom, hair everywhere... the Tom spraying everywhere....OY!!! So yes, I do understand.

Carol, I do hope you find an humane answer to your question that will relieve you of your stress.

Bridget, you can use a grout saw it is really easy. It is kinda like a tooth brush for grout ...»
LOL Just go to Home Depot (I work there LOL) and ask one of them to help you and they will walk you through the whole process. If you paint it with the grout paint it will just work it's way back out again. And I bet the whole process will cost around $20.00 Good luck, but you don't need it cause it is easy peasy LOL

  • At least it looked nice and neat with the door closed! 1
  • Such a disaster... we couldn't find anything in the jumbled mess, and heaven forbid it was at the back!
  • So you empty first, and knock those shelves out! 1
  • It was small closet sized, we repaired any wall damaged and painted. the strips are from the wood they used to hold the former shelves up.
  • My production line for painting. 8
  • I used a left over Behr semi-gloss for the first 2 coats. But finished it off with a nice coat of gloss.
  • You can see the aluminum channel he used to hold the shelves. Smart hubby. 1
  • I can see everything! We did add one more shelf up high a little later. And the bottom shelf is about 8 inches from the floor, so I can clean! 5
  • Everything has a place. So nice. No more digging around to find things. 10

Pantry Remodel!

The standard pantries in the house we bought last year were almost unusable. Long deep shelves and only 3-4 of them in a large closet sized area. Thank heavens they had doors. I designed ...»
the shelves, my husband cut them out of MDF boards, I painted them with several coats of paint, and he installed them with aluminum channel. The channel allowed use of the shelf all the way to the back of the space. I counted and measured all the things in my food pantry to make the plan for how many shelves, how wide, tall and deep they needed to be. See the beginning and end result. It's so nice to be able to find things now. It turned out so nice, we did the 2nd pantry where I keep dishes, plastics, and mixed items for the kitchen!
