About Me:

Welcome to Parsnippidy Moments. This is the place where the house isn't always tidy, I am running late for work because I wanted to finish one more thing, and I am always behind on laundry, dishes and dusting. This is a blog for the real woman who occasional goes to work with a wisp of paint in her hair. The place where money isn't as plentiful as the creativity. A place I hope you come back to regularly! I am so glad you are here!

Favorite area of home improvement:

I love everything from decorating to creating projects, Shoot just rearranging furniture is a blast for me!

Sunflower Umbrella Wreath

I have been seeing a lot of these lately-so this is my version. All you need is an umbrella, flowers of choice and a ribbon. I love the sunflowers on the umbrella and found the sunflowers at Goodwill-whole thing cost me 13.00

  • This is how it looks in my kitchen!

No Sew Burlap Curtains

I needed some curtains for the kitchen eating area. I settled on a No Sew project. Simple as two yards of burlap, a small section of contrasting burlap and drapery hooks. Don't for get the great big burlap bow!

Have you ever ran across an old piece of a yard tool? Wondered what you could do besides toss it in the trash? Well, I put together a Sunflower Pitchfork Wreath that I am pretty happy with....

  • The finished project! Space for all our extra blankets, cushions etc and a place to sit down and take our shoes off, because my late granny always said "It is improper to sit on a bed!" .. lol - Hope she is not watching me every day..
  • I have to thank Donna at Funky Junk, who got me interested in using, well, JUNK!
  • Some sanding done, took a rest for my arms - that'll teach me NOT to paint too thickly when sanding will be involved!

Blanket Box & Bench

I had an old toy box and a very, very old wooden gate - combined the two and now I have a blanket box at the foot end of my bed which serves as a bench as well. This is to go with my ...»

  • These are the knobs I created, I think they would be fun to use on a Child's Coat Rack or a Dresser!
  • Step 1 - Print the printable and cut out the images.
  • This is the product that I used. It's Mod Podge Transfer Medium.
  • Step 2: Apply a thick coat of Mod Podge to the cut out image. About 1/16" thick.
  • Step 3: Put the wet image face down, onto the knob, and pat, until it adheres nicely. Then allow to dry for 24 Hours.
  • Step 4: After 24 hrs, wet with a sponge and let it sit for about 2 mins.
  • Step 5: Using a damp sponge, rub lightly in a circular motion to remove the paper. When done, you can seal it, if desired.

  • Wanted to highlight the three glass arched windows so decided to stencil birds on pieces of wood and we nailed the pieces behind the windows. 1
  • We used old posts from our front porch for the legs between the two shelves. The unused part of the posts are going to made into lamps. The posts are hollow inside so will be perfect to run wire thru. 1
