American Redbud Tree: A Classic!

This spring flowering tree grows in zones 5-9, so it was new to me when we moved to N.C. a few years ago! The most unusual thing about it is the way flowers grow directly on the trunk! Look for it in April, before the leaves appear.

I have never saw these. We have what (my Daddy) called Redbud here in WV but it is not like this, anyone know where I might find one? Daddy always told me when the redbuds bloom, it is time to plant corn.

Donna, a redbud should not be that hard to find at a good local nursery in your area.
