Each project has a full tutorial. You can do any of these!

This is the "ABC Chair" by The DIY Showoff http://diyshowoff.com/ (I'm a HUGE fan.) She made this chair for her mudroom. What you need: Old wooden chair (sanded) primer, canvas alphabet stickers, spray paint and a coordinating pillow. She has the full tutorial here: http://bit.ly/yU3Gu3
This desk is by Jamie with C.R.A.F.T. http://www.creatingreallyawesomefreethings.com/ I love the color and it seemed less daunting for a first timer like me. Jamie was so helpful with her advice. She said to check thrift stores and second hand stores often, make sure the desk is real wood, sturdy, and has nice lines. Then. all you need is some sand paper and a few bottles of spray paint to give the desk a fresh look in any color you want! You can see the whole project (including the rest of that room which is awesome, btw) here: http://bit.ly/zqCfxn
This window messaging center is by Cyndi www.thecreativityexchange.com I was thinking about used windows because I had just seen Terry M's window pergola :). Cyndi says you can do any panels you want, this one has a chalk board, bulletin boards and dry erase boards but you can really get creative. She provides really thorough instrutions on how to make this here: http://bit.ly/ApOm0o
Ahh, LOVE this one by Mandi with Vintage Revivals http://vintagerevivals.blogspot.com All you need is a lampshade, yarn and a little hot glue. To make it look as awesome as this, don't try it without reading her tutorial first: http://bit.ly/tyhIAe She's got some great tips, you'll feel pretty confident that you can actually do this!
I fell in love with this craft room island by Sandra, http://www.sawdustandpaperscraps.com/ and was delighted to see the blog post titled: "Inexpensive, Easy, Home-made Countertop." It doesn't get better than that! Here's what Sandra said when I emailed her about this project: "You don't have to have a lot of experience with building or woodworking to create a similar space. Stock cabinets from a home improvement store - or thrift store finds could be grouped together to create an island. I built my island countertop out of MD edged with inexpensive pine. No power tools necessary for that project." You can see the full project here: http://www.sawdustandpaperscraps.com/2010/12/06/painted-mdf-countertop/

Will do Miriam - just need to find out what his hours are instead of always leaving notes! Beginning to think nobody even lives there...
