Super Easy Painted Mason Jars With Flowers

I recently bought a million mason jars for a baby shower I threw and have been trying to find ways to use them up in the decor. lol. So I stole a few snips of hydrangeas from a friend away on vacation (with permission, but it was still a bit shady) and put them in these fabulous painted mason jars! Plus, I share some tips to help your hydrangeas last longer.
I used regular gray, latex paint with some added Plaster of Paris to help the paint adhere. I brushed on two thin coats of paint to the exterior of the jar.
Once the paint was completely dry, I used a sanding block to distress the high points on the jar.
Cut hydrangeas don't tend to last long, but dipping the actual petals in water helps (since the flower uses its petals to absorb water), plus you can add the spice Allum to the water.
