I have done pebble art on all types of frames. Shadow box frames work better. However, I have actually glued my creations right on the outside of the glass of the frame for a more dimensional look. I'm just beginning! The possibilities are endless! I'm fascinated with buying frames\old pictures from used stores and repurposing frames. Makes it fun and more 1 one a kind finds. I also have been painting some of the small pebbles. Owls are very popular. I hand pick smooth pebbles from our local beaches.
