How to Frame a Builder Grade Mirror (A breakdown of the details)

We just finished updating our very 90's bathroom on a very small budget. One of the biggest parts of the renovation was framing our huge builder grade bathroom mirror, and adding a shelf in the center.
We started by measuring the space and sketching our design. We knew we wanted to add a shelf between the sinks, so we eyeballed how far we wanted it to stick out from the mirror. We used the center drawers to determine the width of the shelf. Using mdf, we framed the entire mirror, then used crown molding to give it a finished look. We replaced the outdated light fixtures with new crystal sconces.
Here is the mirror before we started. It was a huge, boring space, with no character.
When we had it framed completely framed, we caulked the seams and gave it a coat of white paint.
When we were finished with the mirror, we framed the adjacent wall mirror, and added a new tile backsplash right over the existing backsplash.
