Hard Times = a Dream Home! Funky Junk's 2014 Summer Junk Tour

Once upon a time I use to walk into a retail store to buy what I needed. When hard times hit, that all changed. I was forced to shop from the curb to see what I could create on my own.
Going through hard times ended up being the BEST thing that ever happened to me. My home is decorated for nearly free, with one of a kind projects AND it was how Funky Junk Interiors ended up on the map!
Here's a sample of my home tour of where things are today. Which change daily... for nearly free yet again. :D
Each picture links to a tutorial... just click the blog link attached to get there.
Happy summer everyone! May the junk you find also give you the home you've always dreamed of!
Q: What colour is my paint?
A: Cloverdale Paint in Canada / Bamboo Beach.
Challenged to decorate my bathroom with a brand new vanity, I married old with new to chime in with my love of all things rustic. Can you spot the jewelry branch? And then there's the planked ceiling over the popcorn...
Changing out a boring builder's grade window to this farmhouse beauty was a snap, setting the entire feel of this room. As was the board and batten attic wall full of towel hooks.
A junk lamp, wall cabinet gallery for storage and signed up toolbox side table are all normal shnormal in my home. :)
A funky little toolbox with a collection of wheels and handles became this summer's mantel decor. How fun to change out the fresh flowers weekly!
Pallet media stand with drawer crates with a glass display showcase for more junk of course! I've debated on replacing it but haven't come up with a good enough reason to do so. I'd probably make another one anyway! :D
Let's head outside... my junky little garden shed is encouraging my grapevines to take over.
The pallet wood garden walkway is still going strong. Best thing I ever did.
2 full pallets teamed together created this outdoor pallet chair. It's my favourite place to chill out with a coffee and a good book.
Welcome to the bedroom! A horse gate headboard with hooks attached makes for a rather unique (and easy) headboard. A reclaimed wood tray make this room a little retreat.
And an old ladder with planks attached created a nice, tall side table perfect for today's very tall beds. A Restoration Hardware look for free!
The trunk is the bedroom hamper. The ladder helps keep my clothes off the floor. :) Visit the blog link for more of the tour and tutorials!
