I just posted here, about my current gardening project, but also wanted to share with you another garden I transformed. http://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/garden/how-we-are-turning-a-foreclosure-yard-into-gardens-of-beauty-4168635
In 2007, I moved back to the States from England, where I had lived for nearly eight years. After I'd been in North Yorkshire for a year I bought a house in a darling small town called Pateley Bridge. The House was called High Gables, because of its elevated position looking down on three sides to the town and all the way across the beautiful Nidderdale Valley.
Over the almost seven years I lived there, I transformed the home and the gardens. Now I'm doing it again in Puyallup Washington, a suburb of Tacoma. See the link above for the story of that one.
Here are a few pictures of the garden I dug, planted and nurtured in England. I finished the work on High Gables by myself. Fortunately, this time around, I have an active partner in my husband Dave, who is the Wizard of lawns, irrigation, golf and hardscape. Come along for the tour and I will show you what elbow grease, a little pruning, ingenuity, some shrubs and perennials and rock disposal can accomplish. Yes, I've had to fight a massive number of rocks to achieve some beauty in both gardens.
