A 'Welcomed' Chair Makeover

Margita
by Margita
I found this barrel chair at Goodwill for $10. It was actually one of my first thrift purchases. I thought it would make a welcoming addition to our guest room.
After the makeover
This is how it started
I sprayed the frame black, since the original finish was all worn and scratched. Then I made a base for the cushion. Originally the cushion and fabric had been glued and stapled directly to the frame.
This is how it started
Next I recovered the cushion. I added a hidden zipper in the back of the cover, so it can be cleaned easily. All the fabric and materials needed I already had from previous projects.
Then I made my little 'welcome pillow'. I applied the fabric to a piece of cardstock and fed it through my printer. It came out nice and crisp. I added a little pom-pom fringe and also a zipper in the back.
Welcome guests!
