Candle Sleeve From a Soda Bottle

This decoupage project can be done with any pretty printed napkin, or gift wrap paper, stamps, photocopies, vintage newspapers, etc. Have fun with it!

I cut a 2 liter bottle into three parts.

The top, middle and bottom.

Then I swiped a Christmas napkin and separated it to use the printed part.

Cutting the printed part to fit the middle section of the bottle, enough to fold over the top and the bottom of the plastic, I used Gloss Mod Podge to attach it.

Then painted on the Mod Podge over the entire napkin (on the fold overs and on the outside).

I placed it on a freezer bag to dry. The printed section of the napkin is very delicate and tears easy. I actually failed my first attempt trying to flatten the napkin. Trying carefully to mod podge and setting down was a success the second time.

Now the soda bottle part is a candle sleeve! When it dried, I placed it over my candle.

As with any candle, never leave unattended. I watched while I burned the candle in this for over an hour without issues.

U can easily cut the napkins w a brush and water.... And, smooth it out with saran wrap balled up, while the Mod Podge is still wet, but be careful, bc napkins do rip easily. Great idea to use soda bottle for sleeve!
