Train Caboose Bunk Bed

I live with a bunch of train fanatics, so built the boys a train caboose bunk bed. I used an HO scale model railroad caboose as the model, and designed it from the inside out, as I went ...»
along, using twin mattress measurements as a guide. The electrical work was done by my husband..

Kitchen Table Refinishing

It was time to refinish the kitchen table.I used an orbital sander with 80-grit to remove the old finish/stains/glitter/marker/glue, then 120-grit to smooth it. I stained with one coat of ...»
Minwax Golden Oak, and put on 3 coats of Minwax water-based polyurethane, sanding with 220-grit in-between coats of poly. The finish would have been more durable if I had used regular oil-based polyurethane, but I wanted low-odor and fast drying, due to the fact that I was doing it indoors, and have cats and young children..

  • After!
  • After! I made a new window curtain from my massive stash of fabrics. New floor towel and soap storage unit, too.
  • After! Live Laugh Love cast and wrought iron hooks. They arrived dark brown so I spray painted them black. 1
  • After! New towel and toilet paper holders. 3
  • After! My son wanted the door the same colors as the rest of the bathroom. Hooks added to the door.

Bathroom project

The bathroom my 3 kids share needed updating from the original 1989. The walls were yellow-ish, there was no place to store towels or soaps, no place to hang towels to dry, and the cabinet was stained, ugly mis-matched wood.
