Shadow Box

This little violin used to b a Christmas Ornament i hung on my tree for many years. I took violin when I was a child, I didn't play well but I have those memories. I decided to frame it in a a shadow box and I usmed vintage music paper for the background. #violin #shadowbox #vintagemusicpages

Transform Your Bathroom Into a Spa

You don't have to pay top dollar to get that spa like quality in your bathroom! Simply put -- raise the bar. Inspired by this YHL post, I decided to add some drama to my 108" ceilings ...»
by raising my shower rod from the standard 72" to a luxury 98". I found a deal on a 96" shower curtain and liner here and here, and with the help of my new friend 6' Werner ladder from Lowe's, I transformed my bathroom from a builder's standard to high society. I also threw in some new shower rings from Allen + Roth for a finishing touch. More on this project @

Cleaning & Organization: How do I get rid of mold on my bathroom ceiling?

I have 2 big spots of mold on my bathroom ceiling and I want to get rid of it, but not sure what product to use and won't cause a huge mess or drip all over the place. Any ideas anyone? Is there a natural product that can be used?

  • This little crate contraption stores 6 rolls, pyramid style. Not bad!
  • Simply screw the licence plate onto the crate, then screw it to the wall from the inside, and you're done! Instant funky little cabinet, junk style.
  • Sealing the license plate with a clear spray sealer would be a good idea. I simply chose to have the bottom row of rolls remain in their packages.
  • It functions awesome and looks pretty cool. And is rustic enough to please the junkiest junker. :) 2

Crate storage for 'the necessities in life'. :)

We all have the same issue. Where do we store the extra toilet paper? It needs to be within reach but how can we do it in a cool way? ...»

My own answer came by simply screwing a rusty old licence plate onto an old crate, attach it to the wall, and voila, you're all set! Doesn't get much easier (or cooler) than this. :)

  • We began by making wooden braces & nailing them into the wall.
  • Then we cut some finished plywood for the shelves & my husband used a router to create the cap for the front of the shelves. Depending on how think you want the shelves, you could probably use a piece of trellis wood for the end.
  • Next, we installed the top & bottoms of the shelves by nailing them to the braces. Finally, we nailed the fronts to the shelves.
  • Floating shelves provide lots of storage in a tiny bathroom.
