About Me:

I'm 57 yrs. old, married for 38 years, a Mom of two handsome professional firefighter/EMTs, and best of all "Mammaw" to three gorgeous little girls,( 9, 12, and 13) and one handsome little grandson (7).... and livin' life! We moved to Virginia a year ago after selling the home we built in West Virginia 28 years ago due to my husbands job relocation. We just bought a small "retirement" home in Myrtle Beach, SC that is being used as our vacation home until we actually retire. ~~~~ Can you say "DOWNsizing at the BEACH"!?! :-)

Favorite area of home improvement:

Design.. decorating.. repurposing... painting...

A DIY house number sign including a flower box that myself & my husband came up with.

I knew I wanted a house number sign at the end of my driveway and we came up with the perfect DIY to add great curb appeal to your property.

Curtains & Styrofoam Cornice Boards

I am a believer that fabric makes the room. Since we have radiators under many of our windows I made some Styrofoam cornice Boards- light, easy and cheap.

  • Start with an old magazine. Use one that has good, thick sheets, not the really thin page ones. Choose different sizes. Wine Spectator is good for a big tree, or cut down if you need a smaller size. 200 pgs seems to be a good size.

Fall Foliage with recycled coffee filters

I designed this wall art thinking about the colors of Autumn leaves. I dried and cleaned the coffee filters. I dyed them in orange, red, green and yellow with acrylic paint water based. Among the leaves you see the branches that have the brown and natural stained color of the coffee. (www.etsy.com/shop/lampada)
