What could be better.

All you need:

  • The table was $15 at a billeting auction. Chair was $5 at the same auction. Slipcover is from Kmart.
  • Made this pillow in just a half hour. Follow the website link for a tutorial.
  • Mini lantern is from Pottery Barn. Filled it with shells we've collected.

My new makeshift blogging space/office nook

Since the hubs confiscated the desk in our upstairs office, I created my own office nook in the living room using auction finds and handmade items.

  • The table can comfortably seat six w/o the leaf or 8 with the leaf. It looks great with the new plate wall my wife just finished. 1
  • We salvaged the rope molding and the rest of the apron and table legs from an old beat-up table. With a little wood filler, they looked good as new.
  • I stained the top with Rust-oleum's Early American and applied three coats of satin finish polyurethane.
  • The table apron was painted with #ASCP "Old White".

DIY Pottery Barn Farmhouse Table Knockoff

My wife was in love with a Pottery Barn farmhouse table. Too bad it cost about $1700! So instead, we decided to #upcycle an old table ...»
with some paint and a new oak top. It looks amazing, and cost a fraction of the PB table.

My Little Window House

I've been seeing a lot of these little "greenhouses" made from windows and doors and I decided I wanted one, too. Very very easy to make. You need 6 windows, 4 of them have to be alike ...»
for the bottom of the greenhouse. And two have to be alike for the little "roof" of the greenhouse. It's lots of fun and looks pretty cute, I must say. :)

If one pond is good are 2 ponds better?

This project was actually 3 bodies of water if you include the swimming pool. Our client wanted 2 ponds, one for fish only and one for a water garden plants. What happened was surprising. ...»
The lower pond was the fish pond (it made sense, the fish might swim down stream into the lower pond if it was the other way around). However I was shocked when he called me and told me that the fish were jumping over the waterfall stone and swimming up stream and into the upper pond. I guess you can't beat mother nature.

This project shows that you do not have to have a lot of slope in your yard to have a beautiful watergarden.
