Getting Rid of that "Boy Bathroom Smell"

Ask Anna explains how using 3 household ingredients can get rid of that smell that mysteriously appears in a boys bathroom. Here is the readers question: Our front bathroom is pretty much used by our 2 boys. My problem is that I cannot get rid of the "boy bathroom smell." I scrubbed the bathroom last week, and have made a point to wipe things down and have them do it as well. I even replaced the toilet seats. It makes me want to go in there with a pressure washer full of bleach! Any ...»
suggestions on how to get rid of the smell?? I always worry guests can smell it too unless I turn the wax burner on.

Check out Ask Anna for the full answer for a fresh smelling bathroom!

Living with 4 guys, it became a losing battle so I had pieces of plexi glass cut to fit the ...»
wall space beside and behind the toilet. It is a lot easier to keep clean and I never had that pissy smell that you get when it seeps into the walls.

Vegetable garden

This is my vegetable garden. I paint a different sign and put up for each season or holiday. My compose tumbler is behind the fence.

Hi Julee, I love the raised bed gardens, I have 2 within 3 feet of the side of the house. I ...»
used to grow lots of veg. until the DEER found them. Now, I use them to start or nurse back to health any bush/plants that are deer resistant. I also buy the faded or half dead plants on the bargain tables at the big box stores and throw them in the beds and generally can get them back to a healthy plant for transplanting later or give away to friends. Do you have an irrigation system in place? I don't, except for a hose and attachment.

underbrush, a deer haven, snakes and ticks and a downward slope to the house. But I feel the pull of inspiration to do something with it on a scrape the barrel budget. You have done a wonderful job and an inspiration for all of us. Thanks

  • Placing the planks in a slight curve as well as random alignment made for a slightly more interesting take. 4
  • Decide where you desire your pathway to go, and make it happen! This was after a few shrubs were pulled out and new topsoil was placed. 1
  • Here's a picture from year #2. It held up as if it's still brand new! 2

A little walkway out of pallet boards

This quick little project really couldn't be easier! Reclaimed pallet boards were used to create a new walkway through a flower bed. The planks make it an absolute dream to weed by simply ...»
lifting the applicable board, and are just high enough to clear any water run off. And yes, they are staying in place and have shown no rot in over 3 years thus far.
