  • White is a non color and has contradictory interpretations. In Western cultures it symbolizes innocence and purity, cleanliness. White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. 15
  • Green is the color of nature symbolizing growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety and is believed to have great healing power. It is the most restful color for the human eye--can improve vision. 14
  • Red is a very emotionally intense color. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure. Red is the color of fire and blood, and is associated with energy, war, danger, as well as passion, desire, and love. 6
  • Blue represents peace, tranquility, and calm. Just the opposite, it also represents reverie, sadness, and melancholy. Blue also represents the sky, heavens, and the sea which is non ending, therefore it is often associated with depth and stability. 6
  • To the human eye, orange is a very hot color. Orange is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. It represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, and encouragement. 6

Our home was under conservation so we cannot purchase until Oct 2012. So I am doing diligence ...»
this year on what renovation projects will cost for each of the areas needing to be completed. We have a 3,700 sq.ft home and the unfinished basement runs the span of the home. We also have attic space that could be built out. I am researching now what I would like to see in the home before I start getting quotes. We want to try and build as much of the cost of renovation into the buying price to get an even better deal out of our bargain.

This years tree for My 9 month old was made from a step ladder painted in green milk glass paint and decorated with primary colored vintage wooden toys and blocks. Painting: I have this madras quilt in my little boy's room on his antique distressed black bed along with a light, birch dresser.

I'm at a loss for a paint color. I don't want to do green. I'm contemplating the lightest blue out there or maybe even gray? I'm desparate for suggestions! Thank you so much!
