Flagstone Border Wall

Left over Flagstone made into a border wall. This is what we decided to do with more flagstone we got free from a clean up/out property. They said take as much as you want and we took it all. We are still using it and have more left. Pondering is still in the works for one more project. Here is the wall being built.

trellis

Challenged myself to make a Trellis. It came out great and easy to do. The flowering climber is Alice du Pont.

The finish of the Elephant Ear bird bath

First, I found the Elephant ear concrete leaf at a local yard sale for 2 bucks. Took it home and pressure washed all the paint off. I like the natural look from the elements. The ...»
following weekend I found the pedestal at another, it was naturally and perfectly worn to match..and another 2 bucks...that's the best part of making a girl happy. Here she is all finished and placed in the flower beds accompanied by a giant dragon fly.

  • Sam our first fish. We lost a few and I'm sure some oversized frogs got them. Started out with 14, Sam was the biggest so I know now to get larger ones. About 6" so far. Likes to be hand fed and waiting when she sees us.

  • Same pond just bigger. Stucture was 4 1/2 feet tall and wrapped around the end with the 4 cascading tiers. Here is a pic of the finish in August 2011. The natural rock came from our ground from making flower beds and grading out our own driveway that was paved. We are on a rock vein here. Every shovel was a rock. Digging bar was our best friend. Unfortunately the earthquake collapsed it in August. Glad I had pics to remember it. It took a year and half to get all this rock from the ground and continuously add to it. I still have all of it and thinking I may just do another one in the back yard. 2

  • What was left at the end of a 5.8 earthquake. Sad and really miss it but I will rebuild. All removed now. 1
  • Replacement pond, which I posted just 2 days ago in another post about my flagstone patio and flagstone pond project. I have to admit the maintaining is a little easier. But plans to do another tiered pond is in the works. 1

the joints. Now it needs to be sealed, wet look or just a glaze? We are not sure. What is best? We did the flagstone pond w/ patio last summer. That is stone dust in between the joints at the pond.
