  • Here's the finished dresser with numbers....creating a fun, vintage look!
  • I painted in each of the numbers with a slant tip paint brush. Try to stay in the lines!
  • To create visual interest...I turned the numbers upside down and right side up.
  • Print out the numbers and trace onto the drawer fronts with graphite paper.
  • I used standard acrylic paint and sealed the project with polycrylic!

Painted Dresser With Numbers

I love this dresser so much and it's a really fun project for a playroom or rec room! It's been on my to-do list ever since last fourth of July when I first painted it gray and distressed ...»
it and put it in the upstairs playroom. It never really looked right.

It looked....well....it looked....gray.

Gray with red numbers is so much better. :)

No Sew Linen-looking Bed Skirt from a Drop Cloth

Make a seriously simple bed skirt with a drop cloth! It's already hemmed so all you need to do it cut and tuck. I made one to match my drop cloth upholstered headboard with the left over material in about 5 minutes!

I upcycled a 26" used tire into an Ottoman !!!!

This is my upcycled ottoman, i made it with an old 26" tire, plywood, glue, manila rope in a round design, in the center a Gentleman's Jack bottle cap, all of these items were recycled ...»
items ( except the manila rope) and added fence caps as legs for extra savings. htt://www.hooarte.blogspot.com

DIY Personalized Thrift Store Wood Signs

Inspired by a very pricey canvas with a special phrase I set out to make my own...about $8 later here it is! I picked up a $3 wood sign at a thrift store and used foam stickers (Thickers) to create the saying.

Mother's Day Eye Chart Printable FREE

I created a sweet Mother's Day printable using Photoshop. I love the eye chart trend, so I decided to make a Mother's Day Eye Chart. ...»

This printable prints perfectly on an 8.5"x11" card stock paper. I used a burlap'ish shade of paper. The printable fits perfectly in an 8"x10" frame opening.

You can get this printable for free by clicking on the link below. Enjoy!!!

  • Kick your rock gardens up a notch and plant them in something instead. I chose a collection of old kettles. Loving the elevation and junky detail!
  • My little helper Teddy was busy scoping out the area. Approved! Whew... don't mess with a cat I say. 5
  • Each kettle got two rock garden plants, plus were further enhanced with some sticks and stones for a truer rock garden feel.
  • Please don't ask me what these pretty plants are, I'm not a label reader at all (gasp!) but you're welcome to tell ME if YOU know! 2

Forget the tea... these old kettles pour out rock gardens!

I adore working in the garden. Silent therapy in the sunshine while creating... doesn't get much better than that! ...»

Part of my Hometalk Meetup / Out of Africa event was doing something gardenish with junk. So I set about creating little rock gardens inside old kettles. Once I got them home, I found a perfect little corner for the small group.

The tea can wait... I want to plant more!

What's your favourite junky planter to use? I'd love more ideas!

New plantings in the front of my store

Used an old wooden recycled dresser drawer, drilled a few holes and lined with a black trash bag, and of course many other odds and end pieces that I've collected, rusted out coal bucket, ...»
etc. I also filled up the bird bath and planted in that area too.
