Garden Diva Chick

I've had this wire dress form for a long time and have been wanting to do something with it. Paid a visit to Wingard's Nursery because they had a potting area with very helpful staff. Had a good day being creative with her.

DIY Curtain Rod for Oversize Windows

Window treatments for oversize windows can be very expensive. When I was looking to outfit the 10 foot window in our dining room, I was shocked at how expensive longer curtain rods were, ...»
so I made my own using electrical conduit, spray paint, and some vintage drawer knobs.

Check out the tutorial!

years ago when I first married my second husband and we rented our first home I used rug ...»
rolls...the lumber yard throws them away after the linoleum or carpet is is used so I got them all free and they are about 8' long. I painted them black and used door knobs on the ends and at the time the draped look was in so my curtains were very chic.

  • For when I move out!! :)
  • This chandelier looks complicated, but that couldn't be further from the truth! 3
  • Starting with a thrift store chandy, I sprayed it white, then gathered up grapevines and willow tree branches, both while still green.
  • The twigs and branches were attached with twine in all the right places. (more attaching tips are avail)
  • The works then received a coat of white spray paint. The end result truly looks as if the entire light was created out of twigs! Sneaky, eh? :)
  • Ahhhh... perfection. :)
  • And finally, what inspired me. Found it in a gift shop and it was worth several thousand dollars! Mine was $10. :) 2

Light up your life with a twig chandelier!

Desiring a chandelier a little out of the norm, I eyed up a basic frame found at the thrift store and set about twigging it out. :) ...»

NOTE: please ensure the twigs are a safe distance from the bulbs. This frame worked out beautifully! Tutorial is available.

Gardening: Need to get rid of this!

So, I've been trying to give the house some curb appeal but this hideous plant has invaded most of the small front yard and some of the parking lot. I know it comes from whatever my neighbor is growing but I don't want it! Can anyone tell me what it is and how to get rid of it?
