Adding More Whimsy to My Garden

I found this sweet statuette at TJ Maxx - already on clearance!

She dances through life with a ballerina's elegance and her presence is a joy for those around her. Gucci

Wishing Well - All Scrap Wood

Too much time on my hands made this over the weekend, and it is all from scrap wood. This definitely is a proto type. I am going to make an official one along with some furniture and ...»
bring it on down to the River Walk in La. Tell me if you like this? Like I said it is from scrap wood, and spare shingles.

Gather Flowers for a May Day Basket!

May Day Baskets were something we made of construction paper in elementary school back in the day, but I haven't seen much about them for years. If I get a vote, we should bring this ...»
neighborly rite of spring back!

Very simple and fun besides: just gather fresh blooms from your spring garden, insert them into a glass or small vase of water in a charming little basket and add a bit of ribbon. The tradition when I was growing up was for children to place them on a neighbor's door, ring the bell and run away as fast as you could so you weren't caught. Hiding in nearby bushes to see the recipient's surprised expression was half the fun. Try this fun little activity with your children or on your own, or place a May Basket on your own door to officially welcome spring.

  • Simple make over with Krylon's Mirror Glass spray paint. 3-5 coats of paint make for a lovely vintage feel.
  • Bright succulents stand out against the mirrored surfaces of the jars.
  • Fast, simple, and a repurpose for something you might buy weekly!

Spaghetti Jars for the win!

Classico brand jars are rather adorable when you take the labels off! And they come in various sizes: pesto, pizza, alfredo, and marinara sizes.
