We used 6 old pallets to create a custom and unique storage piece. I had all these pallets in my garage and was just itching to do something creative and unique with them. This is what
happened. We pulled the boards off of one side of each pallet and stacked them so the openings were bigger. I sanded and sanded and sanded forever then 2 coats of polyurethane to bring out the rustic color. I sold it to a family who are using it in their playroom!
We saw some pretty pricey coffee tables made from doors and decided to try making our own. We like $31 way better than $hundreds! You can find a step-by-step tutorial on our blog: http://www.thissortaoldlife.com/2012/03/14/...
I had this fabric in my shop for quite a while. I wanted to make simple curtains with it. I added some green tassel trim to the top that I removed from some old curtains...have to repurpose and use again...!! I also like the "puddle" look.

You may can see the weave of the fabric in this pic.
My husband Chuck and I stripped wall paper and painted the walls brown sugar, I made new curtains with tropical fabric...and made a sipcover for a padded headboard. We are painting framed palm trees in back and planning on painting the dresser black.
