  • My catnip has gone crazy this year. It really loves the heat. I let it bloom instead of cutting it and drying it because it helps attract bees to my garden. 1
  • This is my garden. Eight raised beds and a 30 x 40 foot area for vines.
  • This is how I plant my vining plants: I took a large tarp and laid it right over the grass, then cut holes in it (6 on one side, 3 on the other), then I amended the soil in each hole and planted my plants. No weeds! 2

Vegetable gardening.

Here are a few pics of my vegetable garden which is doing very well despite the drought we are in here in Michigan (notice the dead lawn). I do think that the garden hose has become another appendage though!

I just planted Catnip this year heard it's really good for evening tea to relax not to say ...»
help my cat have a good time. I'm drying some now for tea and will make homemade cat toy. After you harvest your mint, what are you creating with it? Teas/tinctures/gifts? I have peppermint and spearmint didn't know catnip was that family how is the pineapple. Can these be added to our smoothies.

Also, what kind of camera are you using.

Beautiful Outdoor Area On a $100 Budget!

I created this outdoor patio area for my husband I after we had just got married. Everything you see in the pictures cost around $100.00 using Dollar Tree, Ikea and Big Lots! I was so ...»
happy with the way it came out.

I had a plug in chandelier that I had purchased for my wedding that I knew I wanted to use centered above the table, and that's how my ideas got started. I then hung Lill Curtains ($2.50 from Ikea) Around the entire patio and it really changed the look instantly.

For a complete breakdown and helpful tips to get the same "look" you can visit my blog at:

Baby Changing table made into a Potter's bench

with a little creativity, a nail gun, old fencing and paint I was able to create my potting bench using what I had on hand. You can read about the details at: http://shelstringblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/b...

  • I wrapped burlap ribbon around the can and added a print of an old ledger paper.
  • This could be used for holding office supplies or at a wedding or shower as centerpieces.
  • This one is feminine and pretty it could just as easily be added to your vanity to hold makeup brushes.
  • It could also be used for weddings, showers or any girly event. 2
