  • The garden gate was made from pallets too. The arbor was made from my childrens' old sandbox. We cut the large boards down to build the arbor.
  • The fence is almost finished.
  • Here is a picture taken from my bench at the back of the garden looking towards the arbor. The fence is complete. Now on to making the garden look pretty. This will take awhile. 1

Re-purposing pallets

This is a fence I made for my garden using pallets and old pickets from a fence that had been torn down. When I ran out of the old pickets, I used pallet boards and cut them to match the ...»
pickets so I could complete the project. My fenced area is 30' X 40' and I still had pallets left over for other projects.

  • Can you really kill these with above recipe 1

Gardening: Does this work

Can you really kill weeds with this recipe:

Dandelion Season ==>> NON-toxic Weed Killer Recipe ==>> Good to use in yards with Pets & Children roaming around!

Make sure to share this on your own page for future reference and to help inform and protect others. =^..^=

1/2 gallon of Apple Cider Vinegar

1/4 c table salt ...»

1/2 tsp Dawn liquid dish soap

Mix above ingredients in a spray bottle.

Spray weeds thoroughly.

1/2 gallon for around $6.40

Works better than Round Up - kills weeds on 1st application.

The Dawn dish soap strips the weed of its protective oils so the vinegar can work with deadly force. Safe for use in yards used by children and pets!!

  • The gate inspired window screens flank the big picture window in the living room. They're big but don't overpower the room due to being slightly folded up and white. It's the first thing visitors notice when they come for a visit. 4
  • The screens started as your traditional japanese styled room dividers I found at the thrift. The concept worked great.. but I wanted them to reflect me moreso.
  • I air-nailed pine tongue and groove onto the screens, then trimmed the tops.
  • The end result is a pretty cottage styled accent that would suit most any decor. AND they are easy keepers for homes with pet hair... just sayin. :) 2

Let the sun shine in with old gate window screens

I am not a traditional curtain kinda gal. I prefer my windows wide open to let that sunshine in. However bare windows can look pretty cold all on their own. So I softened up my big ...»

  • I love my New shelf♥ 2
  • I made the sign too..;) It needed a special saying above it ♥
  • The Decorative front part of the piano. I have the other piece just like this one still that i haven't done anything with yet... Thought maybe a stenciled saying would look good.
  • The shelf was from the piece I think that goes over the keys It was hinged together with another piece that looks just like it...Or I thinking It may have been the top of the piano??
  • I had some metal shelf holders lying around and the piece I used for the shelf fit perfectly I painted it Brown.
  • It almost looks like it used to be part of an Old Ivers & Pond Mahogany Victorian Upright Piano???

Old Piano remnants made into an art piece above the bed

I recycled some remnants of a very old piano that belonged to a friends grandmother... It had been at rest in his Shed for years and thank goodness he thought of me before it ended up on ...»
the burn pile... He said he had been saving it just because it look so neat with all the carved wood but decided he wanted to clean up his shed and was doing some tossing out... When he told me what he had I never imagined how beautiful it would be when he bought it to me... The pieces were covered with so much dust and dirt but I saw right through that and with a little TLC cleaned them up and made it into a shelf above the bed...My Friend now wants his pieces back LOL! DIY Wine Cork Bath Mat

All you need for this unique mat is: shelf liner, hot glue, a knife and 175 wine corks. If vino isn't your drink of choice, or you simply don't want to work through so many bottles, visit a few neighborhood restaurants. Many bars toss their wine corks at the end of the night and would be happy to save a few for you! Learn how to make it here: http://blog.brightnest.com/2012/08/06/learn-...
