When Pigs Don't Fly (..a Mini Foyer Makeover)

I have always found it amazing that a small item, such as a small white ceramic pig, can spark one's creative juices and be the inspiration for a whole new space. This cute little fella ...»
was spotted recently at Marshall's and made his way into my cart and into my heart. (hey that rhymes!) This is how the little pig and a new gothic-style cathedral mirror transformed one side of my foyer.

  • I wish computers had smell-a-vision because the scent of these bars is AH-mazing.
  • I used torn paper, burlap ribbon and raffia to package some soaps into cute little "presents." 1
  • I added a few bars to a white dish on a bed of fresh rosemary, tied it with raffia and added a stamped gift tag from brown craft paper. This makes a wonderful Mother's Day present.

Homemade Rosemary-Citrus Goats Milk Soap

You know what I love best about this project? It sounds like it is so much more complex that it really is. I mean...homemade soap? Really? Who has time for that? YOU do. If you have about ...»
15 minutes prep time you have all the time in the world. And you only need 3-4 ingredients max. I have conquered the world of homemade soap. As God as my witness, I will never buy store-bought soap again. :)

My Southern Easter Mantel with "Beaumont"

Do you decorate with Plan A in mind and all of a sudden, a monkey wrench is thrown in and you have to quickly come up with Plan B? That's pretty much what happened - but luckily PLan B ...»
turned out pretty good with the help of a new Frenchy friend I found and named "Beaumont." I used simple Italian white pitchers, white spray painted twigs, spring-time florals and some favorite back and white toile plates. I hope you enjoy!

My Easter Table in Paisley and Pink

This year. we are celebrating Easter at my brother's house, so I won't be setting an Easter table. But I thought I would share last year's table. which I still think was one of the ...»
prettiest yet. My inspiration was a non-traditional tan and white paisley tablecoth, and I added pink and white dishes to go along with my antique Staffordshire soup tureen.

I hope you enjoy this tablescape! (lots more pics on the blog, just follow the link below) :)
