About Me:

My name is Claire and I blog over at The Rustic Pig. I love buying all things rustic, vintage and antique and finding new uses for them.

Favorite area of home improvement:

I love creating a new space in a home just by moving around the furniture and adding in decorations that might be found in another room of the house!

  • In the beginning we took an old headboard and began framing and building the base of the swing. 2
  • Once the swing was put together, we added chains and hung it from the porch awning. I painted it two coats of Annie Sloan's Duck Egg.

  • Mason jar window treatment using jute rope and fresh flowers. 1
  • I used some jute rope and wrapped it around the top of each jar. Then I took a longer piece for the jars to hang from and tied it on each side, making a knot. 1
  • I used Command hooks to hang them; for a more permanent treatment, I recommend you use permanent hooks.

Use mason jars, jute, and fresh flowers to dress up your windows. My display was temporary, so I used Command hooks. If you're looking for something more permanent -- that you can change ...»
