About Me:

I enjoy reusing things, giving them new lives, often repurposing them in ways they weren't intended. I love to shop at thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales and auctions.

Setting the Garden with Plate Flowers

These plate flowers are easy to make and add a lovely touch to my garden. Because they're made of thrifted items they're inexpensive, and every one is unique. http://www.thriftyrebel.com

Hi Bernice. To stake the flowers into the ground just make sure that whatever you're using for ...»
stems/stakes are long enough so they go down deep. I would make sure they go down into the ground by at least a foot. I don't like to affix anything into the ground permanently because I have winter here and I don't want them to leave them out in the elements. Also, I don't use any items that I cherish too much in case there's a freak storm or something, and if you're worried about wind place them in areas you know are protected. It's very windy here, and mine were fine last year until I took them in for the winter, but every location is different. I hope this helps!!Tuula :)

Nancy Drew Book Page Wreath

I've always wanted to make a book page wreath, but I didn't want it to be anonymous. So I used a book that meant something to me, a book from my childhood that was in terrible condition, ...»
which made it perfect for this project. Also, I wanted the wreath to spin so I could read the chapter titles. To learn how I made this wreath please visit my blog post at http://www.thriftyrebel.com/2013/02/nancy-dr...
