20 years ago I built a stand alone garage and provided power by burying wires in a PVC conduit.

As time went by the conduit was brought to the surface by tree roots and now I must redo the project. Since parts of the property are on bedrock burying to the code depth is impossible ...»
and we do not want overhead wires to the garage. Can conduit be placed in the ground in a way to avoid normal regulations concerning depth. I original used direct bury wires and placed them in the conduit for additional protection. Since I did this myself and with an electrically adept friend I never had it inspected. Trying to comply without degrading the look of the property. Dan

Thank you all. In speaking with the solar company that will do the installation we will make ...»
the decision on whether to utilize existing conduit and pull a new wire using the existing cable. It requires burying that conduit that roots brought up. He liked that idea better than a new cable through the house to a point within 25 feet of the garage. Busting the granite that we have here is not an option so if the existing plastic conduit cannot be buried to depth the only options are a steel conduit that only needs 6 inches or go through the attic and across. Thank you all, it helped direct the discussion with the solar contractor. Dan

What are my options for 'finishing' a concrete floor.

Just sanded the paint off my garage floor in prep to convert it to office space. Want to keep it cheap, so no tile.

Painting: I have a cinder block mid-century house with an attached garage.

I would like to paint the inside of the garage to upgrade the look. We live in Denver, CO so it does get below 0 at times in the winter and can get as high as 100 in the summer. How do I prep & paint this garage? Many thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression those gray, boring garage floors you see in most homes are

concrete. But aren't sidewalks made out of concrete too? So how come the colors are so different? Is one of the surfaces treated? Which one is concrete in it's natural form?

Basement & Garage: So....yet another question!

To save money we'd like to take beadboard off a wall in the basement. I've heard it can be difficult. Any suggestions on how to remove it? Or should we slowly back away.... :)

Trying to decide on what flooring to put in basement.

We're taking out carpet. Would really prefer stained concrete (eco-friendly). It's an open area and with a pool table and tv I'm concerned about noise and whether it'll be too cold during the winter. Would appreciate

your thoughts.
