Bathroom: How to identify the brand/model of my toilet?

The bolts inside my toilet tank have rusted and will need to be replaced, as the tank is slowly leaking into a trash can. My dad is helping me do it, but asked if I know the brand of the ...»
toilet as he couldn't locate any identifying marks on it the other day when he looked. Is there a standard location where a brand or model # would be stamped on it? We want to make sure to get the correct parts at the hardware store when we buy new ones. It's an elongated bowl design. Thanks!

The bowl is not cracked and either is the tank...I was changing the screws in the water tank to brass and had diffculty getting one screw lose so I got my vise gripe which held the screw in place but I turned it to hard and broke that piece off with the screw still attached...I cut the screw off but now I would like to reattach that piece of porcelain back to the bowl instead of putting my money down the toliet!! HA! HA! But really any one know of any thing that would hold that piece of Porcelain to the bowl and then be able to support the water tank full???? If not I guess I will be buying a new Throne!!!!! Home Maintenance & Repairs: Any suggestions for replacing formica in bathrooms (3) plus bedroom bookshelves (3) other than granite?

We have a 50 year old home with formica on the bathroom counters and some of the bedroom bookshelves. I'm not a fan of granite and probably couldn't afford it. Is there something else that would be up-to-date?

Home Maintenance & Repairs: Toilet trouble

When re-doing our upstairs bathroom we had wanted a lo-flow toilet. 2 different stores told us they would not work well in an upstairs room so we bought one with the least amount of tank ...»
water they could recommend. We have been disappointed ever since. The toilet rarely flushes completely and often takes more than 1 flush no matter the "load." It does seem to help if we hold the handle down until it has "swallowed." My question is : should we replace this toilet since we are actually using more water or is there an adjustment on the float or something that can be done? **Also surprisingly it does not clog**

I want to tile my bathroom. The walls are light blue with dark blue counter tops. I am not sure what color tile to put

on the floor. Prefer not to use a white tile.

Home Maintenance & Repairs: How to measure for a bathroom sink?

I'm looking at buying a new bathroom sink but I'm finding the specifications a little confusing. Height, I understand. Width and Length seem to be the two most commonly used "names" for ...»
the other measurements. My main concern is what I would call the DEPTH. How far it protrudes from the wall after installation. Do you think that is what they are calling "Length"? It wouldn't be width, right? That would be the size from side to side. . .
