DIY Tufted Headboard

I've been wanting an upholstered headboard ever since we got rid of our creaky wrought iron canopy bed like, 8 years ago, but the ones I really wanted were uber-expensive. I kept thinking ...»

If you read my headboard round-up post from a few weeks ago, you'll notice that the ones I really liked were in the $1,000-2,000 range. This one cost $99 to make. 99 bucks! Boy's Room. Bedroom for a Boy to Grow.

The boy's room with vertical wall stripes is designed forgrowth. It is not attached toany particular theme. It is styled with vintage feel in mind. The bedding coverlet is "faded" herringbone cotton and vintage art printson the walls add splashes of color. Colors and shapes create rhythm.

Circles of the table and lamps work with vertical stripes ofthe walls. Playful patterns of the rug and the ottoman are fun together. Grey, blue and teal colors ...»

are dominating the room, andcream colors are used to brighten up the room.

A comfortable sleeper was the client's requirement. It is her favorite reading spot with kids. Many stories will be read in this boy's room before he grows up. Then he canuse the sleeper for the sleepovers.

  • go to your local home store and purchase a 4x8 board (or larger depending on size of bed - i had the 4x8 board from the showhouse, so i just added another 1x8 board for the adjusted size from double to queen). cut to bed size and cover with batting and fabric using a staple gun.
