Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to preview the new Candice Olson furniture collection at a local home interiors store.
Seeing this stunning 'Temptress' upholstered and tufted headboard in her new line inspired me to offer some bedroom decor tips (like how to repeat an accent color three times in a room for balance) and create this collection of 8 Beautiful Bedroom Ideas! Recently, I de-constructed an upholstered headboard that I had built a couple of years ago, and my mister helped me build this new one. I drew out the shape that I wanted and then he cut
it out with a jigsaw. I then taped it off and painted stripes of varying widths and colors. We purchase some finials and posts at the home store for the "legs" of the headboard. The collage wall above the bed is ever changing.
When we moved my youngest son out of his crib last year and bought him a big boy bed, I decided it was time to ditch the baby room and update his room to reflect his interests and awesome
personality. He requested a room with dinosaurs and baseballs, so with new paint, (yes, thats a red ceiling!) some easy DIY projects, and smart shopping, I was able to create a room that doesn't feel like a typical themed kids room AND didn't break the bank. The result is a fun, quirky space with a stylish mix of vintage and modern that we both love.
