  • One of my daughter's beds. The three drawers underneath the bed allow plenty of storage, and the bookcase headboard gives her a place to store her books.
  • This inexpensive Lily Rose dresser from Amazon is sturdy and inexpensive. I love the flower drawer pulls!

Design & Décor: Our guest "bedroom" is part of a family room

  • The house/shelf unit was £10 on Ebay, it has functioning windows, a lift up roof and drawers at the bottom. Behind the curtain next to the wardrobe are a series of shelves holding lots of clothes.
  • Storage units are from Argos, 3 for the price of 2, total cost £70. The purple foam mats were £22 from Ebay.
  • The curtain is made from an old white sheet which i have topped with a heart ditsy material and patchwork hearts at the bottom. I also used the same sheet and material to make the pelmet and padded bow tie-backs on the main curtains.
  • The pink clothes rail was £4 in a sale at a shop called B&M Bargains. The white wicker basket underneath was £6 same place and i've decorated it with left over bunting from the pelmet. The sofa bed was £42 on Ebay.
  • This is a mid-sleeper upside down, eventually it will be a castle bed when hubby gets the time.

Boy's Room. Bedroom for a Boy to Grow.

The boy's room with vertical wall stripes is designed forgrowth. It is not attached toany particular theme. It is styled with vintage feel in mind. The bedding coverlet is "faded" herringbone cotton and vintage art printson the walls add splashes of color. Colors and shapes create rhythm.

Circles of the table and lamps work with vertical stripes ofthe walls. Playful patterns of the rug and the ottoman are fun together. Grey, blue and teal colors ...»

are dominating the room, andcream colors are used to brighten up the room.

A comfortable sleeper was the client's requirement. It is her favorite reading spot with kids. Many stories will be read in this boy's room before he grows up. Then he canuse the sleeper for the sleepovers.

  • many have asked how this bed in the show house was done with a camelback sofa - so when i did one for my self - i took pics. to basically show you how i did it! enjoy!
  • go to your local home store and purchase a 4x8 board (or larger depending on size of bed - i had the 4x8 board from the showhouse, so i just added another 1x8 board for the adjusted size from double to queen). cut to bed size and cover with batting and fabric using a staple gun. (if you can find the right sofa for a king, you will probably have to work with 2 boards for your base)
  • go to your local home store and purchase five 4x4's for the legs. one leg goes in the middle and four on the outside. cover in batting and fabric and attach to board with 3-4" screws.
  • slide board with legs attached onto sofa seat.
  • place your bed skirt on the board and adjust as necessary. staple in place.
  • turn bedskirt under when you reach the sofa arm.
  • enjoy your new bed!

DIY Tufted Headboard

I've been wanting an upholstered headboard ever since we got rid of our creaky wrought iron canopy bed like, 8 years ago, but the ones I really wanted were uber-expensive. I kept thinking ...»
that someday I'd make a headboard that looked like one of those expensive headboards that I daydreamed about. Well that someday has come! If you read my headboard round-up post from a few weeks ago, you'll notice that the ones I really liked were in the $1,000-2,000 range. This one cost $99 to make. 99 bucks!
