I noticed that a few people have commented on maybe adding a piece of Plexi Glass to the top of this....... Sorry I forgot to say in the post that I went and purchased some Plexi glass and have it sitting on top of the Door.... It's not shown in the picture cause I purchased it after I had taken all the pics... Sorry for the confusion... But thank you all for your input :)..... What a Trim Install Really Looks Like

Trimming out a room can really give it that high-end, crisp and clean look.

It's really inexpensive too. Would you believe that I spent only $60 on moulding and ...»

trimmed out the bottom of 2 rooms, plus an entire attic space? Oh, and add about 12 windows and doors too. I'm not kidding. We have a lot of entry ways in our NY house.But.....it's a lot of work. And has me hesitant toward whether or not we would do it again. Let me explain the whole process to you in steps. Because there's a lot of them. And when you think you're done, there's a few more.

Reclaimed Industrial Vanity

I really like the industrial look, so I came up with a vanity plan that's different from your typical vanity. I raided my dad's barn for some 2x6 tongue-and-groove boards and bought a ...»
stash of galvanized pipe for the legs and supports. It was pretty quick and easy to build, though it did take some time to figure out. I need to find some good baskets to fit on the shelves, and stock up on nicer towels! But we really like the vanity and so far its worked out great. Step by step tutorial on my blog.

Home Maintenance & Repairs: My cabinets are pressed wood, swollen from water, how do I repair.

I want to paint them but don't know where tostart or if it is possible to sand them smoothe enough to paint.

I tend to disagree with the "no help in repairing". Mine were swollen to some extent. I sanded ...»
them smooth, then I used a primer type paint next step, I used a a semi-gloss latex, not enamel, but a water type base washable paint, not oil based. It took about 4 coats for what I done but they are gorgeious .

I wash/wipe down my cabinets everyday with a vinegar/water solution and I have no problem. Hey, I even painted my refrigerators/freezers.

So I say with a little work , yes mobile home cabinets can be redone. We done a rental mobile kitchen also.

  • How beautiful is this finished Pallet wood coverd coffee table.
  • Had this scratched up coffee table for years...Yes, I have a big dog. It needed a fix , and fast.
  • Here's what it looks like after a heavy sanding. Almost there, but not quite yet.
  • The old weathered pallet wood is almost the same color as my sanded down table top.....only prettier.
  • I used a brad gun with 2 inch nails to attach all my wood strips.
  • I mixed a couple colors of craft paint with some water.
  • I used my washed down craft paint to make all my freshly cut edges to look weathered...but not new.
  • I love how all the holes from the pallet nails line up on the new table.

Updating an Old Coffee Table With Pallet Wood

If I could throw things away, this project never would have happened. I had the very weathered coffee table with deep nasty scratches. I sanded it down as far as I could, but it was still ...»
too weathered. I had a pile of weathered pallet wood that fit the top of my table almost perfectly. I attached the wood with brads and hid my freshly cut edges with watered down craft paint.

Much better now...it looks "intentionally" weathered

  • It was somewhat time consuming, but my walking friends are loving it.

Killing Time With Something to Do.

40" high, Most of the time is shaving and sanding, sanding, and more sanding. Great walking stick for the strolls through the park.
