Outdoor Living: Need Advice - Making Outdoor Bright Solar Lights Hanging Containers

I need advice on how to make homemade outdoor bright solar lights to insert into a hanging light holder. This hanging lantern/container will hang off of a planter hook from a deck post. I ...»
need 10 of them that are extremely budget friendly, quick and easy. I have some instructions on how to take apart existing solar light stakes but they are not bright enough. Any ideas on different kinds of hanging container ideas and/or how to supercharge the brightness of the solar light? All suggestions are welcome!

cords and outlets, so I came up with this idea. My marquee letters are portable and can be used standing as part of a display or hanging on a wall. They would make fun party or wall decor.

  • Easily change a wired wall sconce to a roll-switch fixture and mount it anywhere you need more lighting.
  • Step One: Attach roll switch onto the plug-in cord, unless you purchased one already attached.
  • Step Two: Drill hole in bottom of fixture and run wired end of cord through the hole.
  • Step Three:  Wire the roll-switch cord to light fixture.  Follow my blog post link for details.
  • Step Four:  Attach mounting bracket into wall and wrap ground wire around bracket screw.
  • Step Five:  Hang fixture on protruding screws of mounting bracket and cover with decorative tabs.  Done!

    neat wiring covered along the walls. Just a thought. You would think Home Depot and Lowe's would know we want those things. I love your PVC pipe idea! That stuff is awesome for so many projects!

  • Odd, it stands only 48" high. The wiring is old. I think this is from the late 40's early 50's
  • The base is marble. There are no markings on the bottom.
  • This is one of the arms. There are glass teardrops I took off to clean.

turned it into a FOUNTAIN! The water drips off of the crystal and down into a fountain below... the effect is pure elegance, and it certainly is something I've never seen before.

Can you just imagine this as decor for #OutdoorLiving , in an elegant formal garden or a greenhouse? At a wedding reception? Perfection!

    office building. They are very flexible and should be able to be formed into the shape you need. You may even find them in the big box stores.
