Furniture: Drawer Pulls- 2.5"?? An endangered species..

Is it just me or are 2.5" pulls impossible to find? I've been to all my local hardware stores (Lowes/Home Depot included) and the only option they had in 2.5" were the 'cup' pulls. I want something really unique for a piece I'm working on and need to replace the hardware. I really don't want to putty in the existing holes and drill new ones! HELP! Anyone found some neat ones?! Where?!

  • How can I restore this wrought iron bed frame without losing all of the patina?

Restoring A Wrought Iron Bed

I bought this this head board/foot end at a yard sale that was used outdoors and is very rusty. I don't want it perfectly painted or sandblasted and want to keep the patina but not quite as rusty-looking as I'll be using it indoors as a bed again. Suggestions, please!

How can I Fix up this piece of furniture?

We've had this cubbie unit (bought at target 5 years ago) in my daughters room and the top started peeling away some time ago. I'm pretty sure it started after water spilled and it wasn't ...»
wiped up right away. I'd really like to fix it up and have no clue how! There are so many amazing furniture revivals on Hometalk so I hope all you revival experts can give me some direction and advice! I'm not looking to do a major revival, I'm more interested in fixing the peeling top and shelves. Thanks

You could look into using a piece of stick on laminate that you can buy at Home Depot or a ...»
similar store. I know it comes in different widths, not sure if it would be big enough for your project. Otherwise, I would buy a new laminate board and put it over the top of the cabinet. If it's the same color no one would ever know it wasn't supposed to be there.

Crafts: slip covers for rectangular ottoman and love seat

Has anyone done slipcovers for ottomans and loveseats? Is there a tutorial out there? How to measure to make one from scratch? I sew quite a bit; but slipcovers elude me.

decide if you want to use it indoors or out. When I first saw it I thought it would make an awsome bar caddy - you could even roll it outdoors to the patio should there be a need.

I could also see it being used as something in the garden like the sink, a potting table, or even as a plant stand with lots of colourful flowers and trailing plants.

It could also be used as a sideboard/server by a table - would love it on the patio for this purpose.

You will have to update us when you make up your mind.

    1) Scuff the surface with some sandpaper ...»

    2) Tape off anything you don't want painted

    3) Prime with an oil-based spray paint.

    4) Paint, use Rustoleum if you have any rusty spots otherwise, any kind of spray will work. Follow the instructions on the can. Do as many coats as you need for full coverage

    5) Remove tape and Voila!

Repurposing & Upcycling: I have an art deco bedroom vanity I want to repurpose.

I had painted it a light green color (it was called celery) but now I want to go with a blue toile theme. It's my absolute favorite. I want to paint the overall vanity a cream color then do the accents in a periwinkle blue. I also want to add an accent of fabric on the drawers. Any input would be appreciated
