Furniture: Table ???

Does anyone know anything about this table. I bought it @ an estate sale, it is very unusual. It is about 48" tall, 23" wide & 11" deep, has two beveled mirrors, one on top & one under ...»
top shelf. The top shelf is curved, has a short inset shelf in center under second mirror that has a skinny pedestal holding the shelf up. Bottom shelf is just oval. All shelves have beveled edges. I appears to be mahogany wood.

Painting: Paint the chairs? hmmmmm.... OPINIONS time!! :)

could use something bigger, it was 20 dollars for 2! HOLY COW! Too expensive! Also, is there any good place I can buy a bigger and thick ones for cheaper? Also, I am thinking about painting this because the paint is peeling off. Is there some kind of special paint you can use for this kind of service? What color should I use? I need some wonderful suggestions! Might paint them now, and buy the cushions next spring. What do you think?

Painting: Furniture painting tips for a beginner?

I'm a complete novice at home DIY! Anything bigger than a sewing/knitting/crafting project intimidates me, so I was hoping to get some furniture painting 101 tips. ...»

I just moved back home after graduating college, and I'm in the process of rearranging my room with the free spare furniture lying around the house. My bedroom set of dressers and sidetable is already white, so I was thinking I should paint the Ikea bookcases white to match.

I'm also using a smaller, white bookcase as a makeshift room divider for my little office corner, so the back of it is showing. It's some kind of cheap chipboard that is just installed to keep books from coming out the back.

So my question is, do I need to prime any of these surfaces with anything before painting white? And would a paintbrush/roller + paint or spraypaint be better for a smooth matte finish? Any helpful tips/tricks that I should keep in mind?

Thanks so much! :)

together. Kind of like sausage. It's not the first time I have seen it either. Cheaper furnature store have it. Most consumers don't even pay attention. We were looking at some place online don't remember the name, but also at Rooms to Go, mst if their stuff is "wood solids"

Buyers beware! Shop at Ashley. They have great quality stuff, it's solid wood, and it lasts forever!
