Gardening: Large yard

Most ideas I've seen posted are for small backyards. I have about 2 acres of yard (not counting the front 3 acres in grass). I'm at a loss to plan it out, and other than a Gingko tree ...»
and some butterfly bushes, it is pretty bare. Rabbits ate the other shrubs I planted. Any ideas??

How about an orchard? We have an acre and have a few peach and apple trees, along with a ...»
blackberry patch. Just put in strawberries this spring. Homegrown fruit is great! You also have room to let an area 'naturalize' by putting in a wildflower meadow. It is beautiful, attracts bees and butterflies and you don't have to mow it!

Outdoor Living: Inexpensive deck

My hubby and I would LOVE to have a deck out back but just can't afford it. We currently have wood chips in a 10'x20' area for our grill and lounge chairs. Any ideas as to what we could do to improve that?

Outdoor Living: I need help with decorating my concrete patio, and deck area around pool. Also help hiding messy neighbors yard.

privacy fence, 2 sides have chain link fencing. I just bought the house and have no idea what to do with this area. I has no covering, so it gets direct sun light. The neighbors yard is an eyesore, and I will have no privacy, that's one of the sides with the chainlink fence the otherside that's chain link, looks out to the street. NO privacy. Not sure if I should try planting something to provide privacy, or get a privacy fence put up. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

If it's in the budget a privacy fence will help provide some uniformity to the space and tie ...»
things together. You can then plant in front of it to help break it up. Perhaps you could build a pergola off the side of the house where you have your seating area to help provide shade. I'd bring in some big colorful pots to put large plants in and help soften up the expanses of concrete.

Outdoor Living: Links for creating a barbeque surround

I have a fairly large pile of bricks salvaged from an old unused chimney that we took down. I want to design a brick surround into which we could put a grill (not a grill top, but a grill ...»
so that I can roll it out and replace it). I also have a piece of countertop left over from my kitchen re-model that is about 22" X 32" (it would need to be trimmed straight to that size). I also have 12 glass blocks (4"X8"X4") that I'd like to incorporate into the design. Does anyone have any ideas or can point me to a good website? Thanks
