Painting electric heaters

I just bought a small cottage. The electric heaters along the base boards are a little dates and slightly rusty. Can I paint them? Will the heat affect the paint?

It you want darker cabinets...have your professional painter hubby paint them for you!!! lol I ...»
would never, ever again attempt my own sanding, staining, etc..not good. But hubby can paint them a rich, dark color...here is a color chart from Benjamin Moore. You can still have those darker colors and a durable finish but the trade-off would be not having natural wood. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/for-archi...

Dark waxes for chalk paint

Does anyone know where you can purchase dark wax to use with chalk paint? I am on a budget and I need a wax that is not over the moon expensive, but will still perform very well. Thank you

  • The armoire in the corner is from the 1800's...I love the burl wood and will not be painting it.
  • I've thought a slipcover on the chair would lighten up this corner of the room. 1
  • The t.v. wall across from the couch.

I plan to upholster the coffee table to create a tufted ottoman.

I've add more pictures to the gallery wall and am changing the drawer handles on the dresser. Reveal to come soon!

Your livingroom is a mix of classics both masculine and feminine. However, the majority of the ...»
furniture is more masculine. The coffee table is one of the feminine pieces with the curves so if it were to be made into an ottoman, I would maintain the curves and cover it in a feminine pattern similiar to the Ikat pattern seen in the chair pillow and tuft it like the chair. This would maintain its feminine nature as well as make the tufted chair not stand alone as much. However, I like the coffee table as a table since you already have an ottoman. I think I would see how it looks to switch the placement of the two chairs to bring brightness to the corner. As for the mantel, it needs to have the green apples grouped if not removed. The mantel needs to have the colors from the pillows brought to it with some height. I hope that this helps.

  • It was aqua before, without glass in the front and hung on a wall.
I went with a muted red and sage drawers.

Before and After Curio Case Gone Unisex

I didn't quite know where this thing was going. The knobs could not be removed and the grill was not coming out!! Plan B: I decided to remove the wall hanging hardware, add some glass to the drawers where they could actually hold something and be seen, then went with colors and style that either sex could use. It is suitable for the kitchen, bedroom or bath now..and I kinda love it now. Everything has something it wants to become..Come visit me on Facebook..let's share some ideas!! xoxo

French Impressions Part II - the Bed Transformed

We have had our bedroom suite for years. It was time to make a change and I was inspired by photos found in a Betty Lou Phillips book. This is part two. I started with the dresser and then painted the bed.
